Starbucks' Mango Float Cake
One of the most popular dessert in the Philippines is Mango Float or Mango Refrigerated cake. Boys and girls as young as 10 years old can make this cake because it doesn't require baking and strict supervision from mommy.
I used to make this dessert too and it's been ages since I last made one. I don't remember teaching my daughter how to make Mango Float cake. What I taught her is to bake carrot cupcakes and bread pudding which she has mastered already.
It was recently when I saw an Instagram post of Starbucks PH about their latest offering and it's Mango Float cake. Of course, I told myself I will give it a try and I did. Last Sunday, after attending a baptismal and a relaxing massage, my friend and I headed to Starbucks and I took the golden opportunity to try their Mango Float cake.
Oh boy it tasted heavenly! It brings back "mango refrigerated cake" memories though it has a different texture because of the absence of graham crackers . The Mango Float cake from Starbucks is layered with chiffon textured bread, mango puree, nuts and covered with butter cream frosting and caramel sauce. This is not a too sweet kind of cake and you won't get to experience the "suya" factor.
